What is the OECD Local Data Portal?
Municipalities and local governments face many challenges that require data-driven decisions.
The OECD Local Data Portal is a key resource, offering a wide range of local and municipal data for exploration and comparison.
It provides more than 100 indicators across 10 domains, including demography, environment, climate change, energy, transport, economy and labour, territorial organization, housing, services and municipal finance.
This data portal helps to showcase the unique features of different municipalities and local areas, making it easier to compare and understand their strengths and challenges.
Who we are
The OECD Local Data Portal was developed by the OECD Laboratory for Geospatial Analysis, part of the Economic Analysis, Data and Statistics Division of the OECD Centre for
Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities (CFE).
The OECD Geospatial Lab is a platform to develop and disseminate policy-relevant analyses
based on geospatial information. The Lab connects people from a variety of institutions,
including academia, government agencies, the private sector, and statistical offices.
